Postpartum Doula Support

What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula provides families un-biased, evidenced based information and support in the areas of infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, family–baby bonding, infant soothing, coping skills for the new parents, and basic newborn care. Your postpartum doula will also help with meal prep and planning, light housework (folding laundry, doing the dishes, pet care), and caring for the newborn so parents can shower, eat, sleep, and spend time with the older sibling and spend time with the older sibling(s) while parents focus on their new baby. Your postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby.

As your postpartum doula, Rebecca can be there for you after bringing your baby home. She will be able to support you with feeding questions, latch issues, formula questions, poop concerns, additional newborn concerns and your postpartum healing. After leaving the birth place, It is common for you to not see another professional until your six week postpartum follow-up, so having a postpartum doula in your home before then, can be a great comfort. If you have questions about your healing, such as blood loss, sleep issues, energy level, mood swings, etc, Rebecca will be able to assist and guide you. She also has a large pool of local professional referrals for concerns beyond her scope of practice and knowledge. Self care is vital to healing. Reducing stress, eating real meals and drinking enough water, shower or go for a walk help you feel like yourself but also support your physical healing while also supporting your mental wellbeing.

You deserve to be taken care of just as much (or even more) than the other members of your family. Rebecca is prepared and motivated to be that care support for you.
