Why have Doula support during Pregnancy, Labor & Birth?

  • To have physical and emotional support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum tailored to meet your specific needs.

  • So a birth professional knows your preferences and can help better facilitate communication between you and your birth team.

  • To have guidance preparing for the calm, relaxed, empowering childbirth that you envision for yourself.

  • To reduce the possibility of requiring medical intervention during labor.

  • To assist in preparing for your birth experience following a less than ideal birth experience in your past.

  • So you have a tender comfort and support during your fourth trimester in addition to your family and friends.

If you found yourself mentally checking off each point, you can schedule a consultation or discovery call to learn more about how Rebecca can best support you. During your consultation, she can customize her doula service to meet your specific pregnancy, birth, and postpartum needs. No two pregnancies are the same and Rebecca wants to ensure you receive tailored support to meet all of your needs. Please visit the Birth Doula page or contact Rebecca for more Doula Support information.

“...All in all, Rebecca is worth her weight in gold. She made this process so much easier for my husband and I, and she really does an excellent job at restoring the faith in women that we can do this and our bodies were built for the natural birthing process. I would hire her again without question, and recommend her to anyone looking for a doula or any services she provides. She is an intricate part of my birthing story and for that, I am truly grateful to her.” – Rae W.

“...Rebecca was a calm and steady presence in the labor room and she advocated for my preferences when I was unable to do so myself.  She also helped my husband to support me through labor, helping him into his role as a father as much as she helped me become a mother. I would highly recommend Rebecca’s services to every expecting parent.” – Caitlin M.

“Working with Rebecca allowed me to experience labor the way I imagined. My first laboring experience without a Doula brought me a lot of PTSD & trauma.. so I knew for my second I wanted a Doula to support me. She made the room calm, she spoke words of affirmation to me and was a support system I never knew I needed for birth. Educated and calming is how I'd describe her. She's a friend who wants you to have the best birthing experience. She supports your ideas and doesn't make you feel discouraged. I highly recommend working with her.” – Allison M.

“I couldn’t recommend Rebecca more. Being pregnant and delivering a child during the height of COVID was not ideal, having Rebecca as a part of my birthing community helped me stay calm and focus on having the type of birth I intended. Her constant communication, immense knowledge and calming presence was so appreciated. I highly recommended her for any type of doula services you are seeking. She also encapsulated my placenta and made it so easy!” – Nadine

A birth doula is defined as a professional support person trained in the needs of the mother and family during pregnancy and childbirth. The doula offers non-judgmental support, guidance, evidence based education and practical hands-on support during childbirth including comfort measures. Doula originates from the Greek word meaning woman servant. A birth doula recognizes the profound impact of childbirth on the mother.
